Welcome to the Lexington Fayette County
Medical Reserve Corps Website!
Mission Statement
The Lexington-Fayette County Medical Reserve Corps will to assist the Lexington-Fayette Health Department and our community partners in providing support during public health emergencies and ongoing public health initiatives.
Are you the type of person who steps up to the plate to assist when you see a need?
When disasters occur, do you feel the need to “do something”? In the past you may have tried to become involved only to discover that authorities could not use your help because you were not recognized as part of a response team. We would like to assist you in taking a step before the next disaster strikes by becoming a member of our Medical Reserve Corps.
Become part of the solution by volunteering your services.
MRC volunteers will receive special training to assist during public health emergencies. Volunteers may also have the opportunity to serve in non-emergency medical situations, such as staffing flu shot clinics, assisting in health screenings, or providing nutrition and health education at health fairs.
Why should I become a MRC volunteer?
- Volunteering is a way to offer your skills that benefit your community during times of need.
- It is an opportunity to belong to a group with a strong sense of mission and purpose.
- MRC volunteers receive special training and incentives.
- Additional training sessions will address community needs and the experience of MRC team members.
- Free Continuing Education Units (CEUs) is available for participation in some of the training sessions.
